What happened to Philadelphia sports?

Recently the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies had the most hype and championships set in their favors. However, the Phillies lost in the first round of the playoffs to the St. Louis Cardinals and the Eagles have slipped to an disgraceful 1-4 record. We as Philadelphia fans were on the top of the world weeks ago and now we are at the bottom of the barrel hoping that something good can happen soon. The Philadelphia Flyers have started their season 2-0 so hopefully they can make a good run for the cup but I don't want to get my hopes up too high again just to see a melt down happen again. What are your thoughts about what the Phillies need to do in their off season to come back and make another run like they did this season? And how can the Eagles bounce back and get on track against the Washington Redskins this weekend?
